Hello, I am a high school filmmaker and this is my six month long project of Phoenix, AZ. I began this project back in May, however the majority of the clips you will see are only from the past 3 months. I have been on most mountain tops and trails in the greater Phoenix area to get these angles. By taking on this project I have learned the ins and outs of time lapse and can’t wait to get out there to start my next project on Arizona, stay tuned. Hope you enjoy the video! 🙂

For those of you wondering “What camera did you use!?” It was shot on entry level canon dslr’s (even a mirror less). Nothing fancy, what makes the video pop out is that motion control.

Special thanks to eMotimo ( and Dynamic Percpetion ( for the awesome gear. I would not have been able to create this video without them.

Paradise x SF by Maniego Media

By: Maniego Media

There were a lot of long nights and early mornings, most of the time it was really cold and foggy. Living on top of a hill allowed me to look out and observe what the clouds, fog, and light would do. When it looked right, I went out and hoped for the best.

This time lapse took about a year to put together. I chose “Paradise” because San Francisco is that to me. You can be in the heart of an urban jungle one minute, and the next you can be at the beach enjoying the sunset. I guess that’s what makes San Francisco unique, and well, perfect. I know I didn’t cover every part of SF in this piece, but I hope that this gives you all a better idea of the beauty that this city has. It was pretty fun putting this piece together and I’m looking forward to making another soon.

Cheers and enjoy!

Joshua by SungjinAhn

By: SungjinAhn

Official screening for 6th Kuala lumpur Eco Film Festival

This Time lapse was filmed between May 2012 to May 2013. The overall goal of this time lapse is to provide the beauty of Joshua trees that only live in the U.S. I thought it would be amazing If I can collect all the footages of Joshua trees with different weather condition like snowing , different type of clouds, sun, moon ,milky way,and meteor shower.
Joshua trees only live in western Arizona, southeastern California, southern Nevada, and southwestern Utah, which means that we can’t see this trees in different countries but only in America.
When I started this project, I read it on wiki page that “Joshua trees are one of the species predicted to have their range reduced and shifted by climate change.[14] There is some concern that they will be eliminated from Joshua Tree National Park and that this will damage and fundamentally transform the ecosystem of the park.” After I read it, I thought it would be a good idea to record the beautiful Joshua trees before it is reduced or it might be gone. Over the last year I was so happy and passionate making this project. now I would like to share my work with you guys.

The equipment I used for this project

Camera : canon 5d mark III

Lens : EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, EF 24-70mm F2.8L USM, EF 135mm f/2L USM

All photos are taken with RAW files and I did post processing with LR time lapse, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

I used After Effects and Premiere for editing.

Format : Available in Digital Cinema 4k and 1920×1080 (16:9)

Helsinki World Design Capital 2012 Kruunuvuori Light Art piece by Lighting Design Collective

By: Lighting Design Collective

Architectural lighting design firm LDC (Lighting Design Collective S.L.) has been awarded a prize to realize a permanent urban light art piece in Helsinki, Finland – an official project for Helsinki World Design Capital 2012.

The art piece will convert a disused oil silo into a wondrous light display and a civic space. Public will gain access to the vast interior of the 35m diameter 16 meter tall steel silo which will be dark red inside. Sunlight will fill the space with dappled shadows creating a spectacular daytime space.

At night 1280 white LED®s flicker and sway on the surface of the silo controlled by a bespoke software mimicking swarms of birds in flight – a reference to silo®s seaside location. The prevailing winds, well known to those living in Helsinki, are used to trigger different light patterns in real time.

‘The enduring fascination of the complex movement of light and the amazing location by the sea will make this a captivating experience for the visitors and the residents of Helsinki’ Tapio Rosenius the Director of LDC say.

The win crowns a buoyant year for the Madrid and London based LDC following major design commissions in Asia, Europe and Africa.

Description in Finnish:

Helsinki World Design Capital 2012 –hanke.

Helsingin Kaupunkisuunnitteluviraston jÀrjestÀmÀn kansainvÀlisen suunnittelukilpailun voittajaksi on valittu Lighting Design Collective (LDC) Madridista. Firma on maailmanlaajuisesti toimiva suomalaisomisteinen valaistussuunnittelutoimisto. PÀÀsuunnittelija on Oulusta lÀhtöisin oleva Tapio Rosenius.

Roseniuksen työryhmÀn valaistus muuntaa terÀksisen öljysÀiliön nÀyttÀvÀksi ympÀristötaideteokseksi. Teos tulee ensimmÀiseksi osaksi Helsingin Laajasalon entisen öljysataman alueelle rakennettavaa Kruunuvuoren kaupunginosaa. Merellinen noin 11 000 asukkaan asuinalue rakennetaan 2010 ja -20 luvuilla.

“Kaukaa siilo on lyhty jonka sisĂ€llĂ€ valo elÀÀ. LĂ€heltĂ€ se on abstrakti, kuvioitu ja futuristinen. SisĂ€ltĂ€ maaginen, yllĂ€ttĂ€vĂ€ ÀÀni- ja valokollaasi”- kommentoi Rosenius taideteoksen lĂ€htökohtia.

Siilosta tulee julkinen tila jota voidaan kĂ€yttÀÀ erilaisiin tarkoituksiin. Iltaisin 1250 valkoista LED valoa luo siilon pinnalle lintuparvien lentoratoihin perustuvan muuttuvan valokuvion. “Valon liikkeen muodostavat manipuloidut matemaattiset kaavat. Luonnonkasvua ja liikettĂ€ mallintavat logiritmit sekĂ€ parviĂ€lyyn perustuvat monimuotoiset liikkeet jotka eivĂ€t toistu.” – selittÀÀ Rosenius.

Valon liikkeen laukaisevat siilon ympĂ€ristön luonnonvoimat. OhjausjĂ€rjestelmĂ€ monitoroi tuulen nopeutta ja lĂ€mpötilan vaihteluja. “Toiveena on ettĂ€ teos yllĂ€ttĂ€isi vielĂ€ vuosienkin jĂ€lkeen” – Rosenius perustelee interaktiivisuutta.

SĂ€iliö sijaitsee KruunuvuorenselĂ€n itĂ€rannalla vastapÀÀtĂ€ Helsingin kantakaupunkia. Taideteos nĂ€kyy laajalle alueelle Helsingin niemelle, ympĂ€röiville saarille sekĂ€ merelle. Valotaideteos on tarkoitus julkistaa syksyllĂ€ 2012, jolloin Helsinki on kansainvĂ€lisen huomion kohteena viettĂ€essÀÀn Word Design Capital – vuotta.
